IF IT’S TOO COLD FOR YOU…

PROTECT FROM ITCHY, FLAKY SKIN

KEEP YOUR PET SAFE!

CHECK YOUR SURROUNDINGS

It’s probably too cold for your pet! Pets can freeze, get disoriented, or get injured if left outside. Some pets are equipped with thick coats that will protect them, but it’s a good idea to have a coat for your pet, as well as considering booties or vet-approved paw protectants for protection when outside.

Towel dry your pet after bringing them in, especially if there’s a significant amount of snow on the ground. Going in and out combined with wet fur can cause itchy, flaky skin. Make sure to dry in between your pet’s paws and toes as well to prevent irritation.

Make sure your pets don’t lick their feet after walking through salt or other de-icers that may be present. Ingredients in these can be very dangerous to animals. In addition, provide some shelter outside if you can for stray animals to have somewhere warm to stay.

Always check underneath and around your car. Warm engines or even just a spot out of the cold can be very inviting to outdoor and stray cats. It’s always a good idea to check before starting your car – knocking on the hood or honking your horn will let any kitties know it’s time to move.
